S.O.S.

SOS is a project in a former factory, for a space without natural light, a place where the temporality of night and day do not participate in the way of understanding and living this space.

A kind of inert quality led us to propose through the light and sensors, a new temporality based on the movement of residents.

The choice of materials responds to those that were available for free in the former factory: fluorescent tubes, cables, black paint, and motion sensors.

The reuse of these routine and purely functional elements allowed us to give another meaning to what is available, changing the order of things, perhaps giving them their true power towards a new service; that of meaning darkness, light and time.

SOS es un proyecto en una ex fábrica, para un espacio sin luz natural, un lugar en el que la temporalidad de la noche y el día no participan en el modo de entender y vivir este espacio.

Una especie de cualidad inerte, nos llevó a plantear a través de la luz y de sensores, una nueva temporalidad en base al movimiento de los residentes.

La elección de los materiales responde a los que estaban disponibles en forma gratuita en la ex fábrica: tubos fluorescentes, cables, pintura negra, y sensores de movimiento.

La reutilización de estos elementos rutinarios y puramente funcionales, nos permitió dar otro significado a lo disponible, cambiando el orden de las cosas, otorgándoles quizás, su verdadero poder hacia un nuevo servicio; el de significar la oscuridad, la luz y el tiempo.
